AI Journey 2025: Three Days That Showed Where AI Is Headed

From November 19 to 21, Moscow hosted the 10th International AI Journey Conference. Under the umbrella of the International AI Alliance and with support from Sber, participants gathered to discuss how artificial intelligence is reshaping the very structure of society, business, and science.

AI as a New Environment

Right at the start, a thought was voiced that became the main leitmotif of AIJ 2025: artificial intelligence is no longer something external to humans — it has become an environment.

German Gref, President and Chairman of the Executive Board of Sber:

“We are entering a fundamentally new era of human civilization at an extremely fast pace. The industrial revolution lasted 200 years ,and this one will be ten times faster. It is our responsibility to help people transition into this new era smoothly, without shocks or stress.”

A large part of the first day focused on applied solutions from services offering personalized everyday support to complex analytical platforms optimizing the work of cities and government agencies.

Business Sees AI as Strategy
The second day shifted the focus to business and the economy. Companies from tech giants to manufacturing conglomerates discussed how they are shaping their AI strategies.

Special attention was drawn to sessions held within the BRICS+ framework, where participants talked about technological sovereignty and long-term cooperation between countries. In this context, AI becomes a component of economic independence and a catalyst for forming a new, polycentric technological world.

A Glimpse Into the Future: Research, Foresight, and Young Minds
The final day centered around science. Researchers presented insights from the international AI Horizons foresight sessions, where countries explored which research directions will become critical over the next decade from empathetic models to algorithms capable of explaining their own decisions.

In parallel, the AIJ Junior track took place. School and university students showcased projects in medicine, education, and ecology — doing so without fear of making mistakes. The atmosphere felt more exploratory than competitive. Many adult participants called this track “the strongest argument for optimism.”

To conclude the forum, Alexander Vedyakhin, First Deputy Chairman of Sber’s Executive Board, emphasized that mutual support and understanding have become the foundation on which members of the International AI Alliance will build global cooperation.

Experts from China, India, Brazil, Malaysia, the USA, Serbia, and Bahrain took part in AI Journey, highlighting that we are standing at the threshold of a technological era where collaboration yields maximum impact.

An Inside Look: How AI Is Reshaping Marketing and Communications

AI Journey isn’t just about future possibilities — it’s about tools and changes already taking shape here and now, including in our field: marketing and communications.
Alexandra Pertseva, Strategy Director at Make Sense, shared her perspective:

“We are witnessing how quickly AI narratives are shifting from ‘opportunities’ to ‘responsibility’ and ‘integration.’ For us as a communications agency, the key insight is personalization and speed. AI allows us to adapt messages, formats, and channels in real time to the user’s micro-context. Our task now is to design adaptive communication ecosystems where creativity and strategy work in symbiosis with algorithms to achieve maximum relevance and impact.”

Conclusion

AI Journey 2025 reminded us that artificial intelligence has stopped being a trendy buzzword and it has become a space of responsibility.
